What is the title of the exhibition?
Somos Naturaleza: We Are Nature
Where, when, how, and how much does it cost?
You can visit the immersive experience Somos Naturaleza (We Are Nature) until 6 April 2026 at Caixaforum, very close to Plaza de España. It is open every day from 10 am to 8 pm. Admission costs €6 and includes access to all the exhibitions currently on display at Caixaforum. Admission is free for children under 16 and Caixabank customers.
What languages is it in?
All the information about the exhibition is available in Catalan and Spanish in the gallery, and you can also access information in English via a QR code near the entrance. If you're not very good at these three languages, don't worry: the exhibition is divided into three immersive spaces, and information about what you're going to see and why is displayed on panels before you enter each room, allowing you to read and translate at your leisure and concentrate solely on enjoying the images once you're inside.
What is it about and why should I go?
Somos Naturaleza (We Are Nature) is an immersive experience co-created by OASIS Immersive Studios and National Geographic, with support from various environmental institutions and global initiatives, including the United Nations and the David Suzuki Foundation. The exhibition combines digital art, visual narratives, and technology to show us how important biodiversity and conservation of the planet are. Through images, projections, and sound, the exhibition immerses you in the Earth's biodiversity and tells you not only about the fragility of ecosystems and our shared responsibility to protect them, but also about conservation initiatives that really work and our potential as a society to build a more sustainable future. In short, visiting We Are Nature is a great idea if you are interested in nature, contemporary art, sensory experiences, and reflecting on our role on the planet.
Is it a good idea to go with children?
Of course! Children get in free! 😀
In addition to the perfect price, the images in the exhibition are fascinating and perfect for sparking children's curiosity without overstimulating them. The fact that there are three different spaces where the projections are shown on a loop and with almost no words makes it easy for you to come and go and stay as long as your little ones want. Also, as is customary at Caixa Forum, Somos Naturaleza includes a room where children and adults can reflect on the exhibition through play. In this case, it is a space where they can better understand the importance of balance and connection in the natural world through games.
Can I have a drink or grab something to eat near the exhibition?
If you're looking for something easy and practical, Caixaforum has a very pleasant café with an interior courtyard that also serves as a restaurant. It's the perfect place for a quiet coffee and to recharge your batteries before or after the exhibition. If you feel like leaving the museum and taking advantage of the fact that the sun has returned to Barcelona, less than a 10-minute walk from Caixaforum, you'll find Heladería Pichi, a family-run neighbourhood business where you can enjoy delicious artisan ice cream while supporting local trade 😜
