With our Blog you will learn more about Spanish and you will get to know the city of Barcelona better. We will show you a little more about who we are and who our students are. To make it easier to navigate through the posts, we have organized all the information into these categories:
Do you know Antoni Clavé? The Palau Martorell, in collaboration with the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona, is organizing a fantastic retrospective exhibition that will allow you to get to know one of the most prestigious Catalan artists of the 20th century while practicing your Spanish and visiting not one, not two, but three places in the city with the same ticket.
Last Friday, several DIME students took part in a special cultural class dedicated to La Castañada, one of Catalonia’s most beloved autumn traditions. For one hour, they learned about its origin, enjoyed typical seasonal treats, and practiced Spanish through culture.

Barcelona has two patron saints: Saint Eulàlia and Our Lady of Mercè. This situation is not very common, but it has a historical explanation. Each of them became the patron saint of the Catalan capital in a different historical period, and each carries a different symbolism. Want to know the story? In this article, we’ll give you all the details.
This week we have started our extensive Spanish courses at Dime. Many of our students have returned from their summer holidays and reunited with their classmates. And many new students had their first in-person Spanish class. Welcome everyone! We are very excited about everything this semester has in store, full of learning and activities.
One of the advantages of living in Barcelona is that you can practice your Spanish while enjoying the city's cultural life. Barcelona has many excellent museums, and there are always new, top-notch exhibitions for people interested in culture. Today we recommend visiting Caixa Forum, one of the cultural spaces most loved by Barcelona residents, to enjoy an exhibition organized in collaboration with one of Europe's leading museums, the Prado Museum.
On September 11th, since 1980, Catalonia has celebrated its national day throughout the region: the National Day of Catalonia, popularly known as La Diada. Unlike most holidays in Spain, it is not of popular or religious origin, but rather commemorates an important historical event in the history of this autonomous community. Let’s take a closer look.
At Dime, we're always looking for fun ways to learn Spanish, and during the month of July, Friday mornings are special — we organise new and surprising activities that combine learning and fun. So… why not a game show? A “Pasapalabra” Rosco combined with other challenges? Well, that’s exactly what we did! Want to know how it went? Keep reading…
At Dime, learning Spanish goes beyond the classroom. Last week, three of our teachers organized a Pasapalabra-style game, adapted so that students of all levels could take part. The activity helped review class content while encouraging real-life language use in a fun, relaxed environment. These kinds of experiences boost confidence, support social interaction, and reinforce learning. Huge thanks to our teachers for their creativity and teamwork!
At Dime Spanish School, we organize urban walks through Barcelona so our students can learn the language through the city itself. Some days ago we visited El Raval — a neighborhood full of history and contrasts. From its medieval origins to its vibrant multicultural present, we explored iconic spots like the Hospital de la Santa Creu, the MACBA, and the Rambla del Raval. A rich experience that connects learning Spanish with discovering the true heart of Barcelona.
