Learning Spanish Also Means Living the City: Our Vermut in Barcelona
Last Friday we organised a very special activity that is always a big success among our students: a vermut in Spanish! We met at La Vermu, a vermutería in the Gràcia neighbourhood. With a good vermut, some olives and a couple of tapas, any shyness quickly disappeared, and before we knew it, we had spent two hours talking and joking in Spanish.
Initial Internship Phase for the Students of the Master’s in Spanish as a Foreign Language Teaching (UB): Observation
November arrives, and with it, for the fourth consecutive year, the first internship period begins at Dime for the students of the Master’s in Training of Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Barcelona (UB). It is an occasion that offers a very enriching opportunity for both parties.
New colors and the same passion for teaching Spanish in Barcelona
This month we’ve introduced a new shade of green that feels more “us”, and with renewed enthusiasm we continue doing what we love most: teaching, sharing, and building community here in beautiful Barcelona. This week we have started our extensive Spanish courses at Dime. Many of our students have returned from their summer holidays and reunited with their classmates. And many new students had their first in-person Spanish class. Welcome everyone! We are very excited about everything this semester has in store, full of learning and activities.

When Teachers Team Up, Magic Happens!
At Dime, learning Spanish goes beyond the classroom. Last week, three of our teachers organized a Pasapalabra-style game, adapted so that students of all levels could take part. The activity helped review class content while encouraging real-life language use in a fun, relaxed environment. These kinds of experiences boost confidence, support social interaction, and reinforce learning. Huge thanks to our teachers for their creativity and teamwork!
We are visiting the Raval neibourhood with the students of the Spanish intensive course
At Dime Spanish School, we organize urban walks through Barcelona so our students can learn the language through the city itself. Some days ago we visited El Raval — a neighborhood full of history and contrasts. From its medieval origins to its vibrant multicultural present, we explored iconic spots like the Hospital de la Santa Creu, the MACBA, and the Rambla del Raval. A rich experience that connects learning Spanish with discovering the true heart of Barcelona.
Happy Saint Cristina’s Day!
Today at school we’re celebrating… because it’s Saint Cristina’s Day! And we have three times the reason to celebrate — there are three Cristinas on our team! Two of them are Spanish teachers who share their passion for teaching every day with students from all over the world. The third is our co-director, and thanks to her, everything runs just the way it should.
Spanish courses for beginners: extensive and intensive
If you're thinking about starting to learn Spanish, this is the perfect time! At our school, we offer several course options for beginners, tailored to different lifestyles and needs. We have extensive courses from September to June, and intensive courses in July. Many students combine both formats to strengthen their learning and make faster progress.

The first year of the Dime Spanish Literary Club has come to an end, and it has been a fantastic experience, full of shared readings, learning, and great moments. Our participants have already reserved their spots for the next term. We’ll be back in October with new stories and lots of enthusiasm to keep enjoying Spanish through reading. See you then!
