Spanish Culture Quiz in our Intensive Spanish Course

A Fun Activity in Our Summer Spanish Courses

The long-term courses at Dime School finish in June. During July, the school offers intensive Spanish language courses with two-hour classes every day. On Fridays, students take part in special activities focused on Spanish culture.

This year, we kicked things off with a Spanish Culture Quiz featuring questions about the country's history, geography, and traditions.

Students from different levels took part in the activity, which came as a surprise to them. Divided into two teams, they eagerly competed against each other as the quiz progressed. With each new question, the excitement grew, and for two hours they enthusiastically answered questions such as:

What is Miguel de Cervantes' second surname?
a) Avellaneda
b) Pérez
c) Saavedra

How many floors do Cuenca's famous Hanging Houses have, considering that each side has a different number?
a) 2 or 3 on one side and 7 or 8 on the other
b) 5 and 11
c) 3 and 25

At the end of the quiz, the winning team received a generous prize of sweets and gummy candies, which they happily shared with everyone. More importantly, all the students left with plenty of fascinating facts about Spain's cities, towns, history, and traditions—knowledge they will no doubt put to good use on their future travels around the country.  Because speaking Spanish is also about discovering the country, sharing experiences, and enjoying every step of the journey.
