We love sharing our knowledge of teaching Spanish to foreigners

Over the past two weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of opening our school to students from the Master’s Program in Training Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language.

The Master's, organized by the University of Barcelona (UB), prepares future professionals in both research and teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). It provides comprehensive theoretical and practical training in foreign language teaching in general and ELE in particular, and also trains professionals in the various areas of research related to this field.

The program lasts two years and includes classroom observations and teaching practice in language schools across the city.

At DIME, we’re proud to have renewed our collaboration with the Master's program and its fantastic team for the third consecutive year, offering our school as a space for both observations and teaching practice. In November, four students carried out their classroom observations at DIME, and this May, two more students from the program chose our school for their intership. Zilia and Tyler observed 25 hours of group classes at different levels within our extensive courses, and on the final day, they each taught a session themselves, putting into practice everything they had learned over the previous three weeks.

This experience has been incredibly enriching for us. We love sharing our knowledge of teaching Spanish to foreigners and are always inspired by the enthusiasm and commitment of those in training. What’s more, this collaboration also opens professional opportunities for the students. in fact, in previous years, some went on to join our team.

Here’s what the participants had to say about their experience:

At DIME, I learned through both observing and teaching. The teachers were so kind and welcomed us with open arms. I learned a lot, and I know that all the information and advice I received will be useful in my future career. I’m really happy and would definitely do it again. A huge thank you for everything!
Zilia

It’s been a pleasure to be part of the school these past three weeks. I felt truly welcomed by both the teachers and the students. You can feel the positive atmosphere in the center — the classes are really enjoyable, and I hope to come back someday.
